Mountainside jewelry is thoughtfully handcrafted using high-quality metals and natural stones, designed to be worn and loved for years to come. Like all fine, handmade pieces, jewelry is delicate by nature and will naturally experience wear over time. This is not a reflection of quality, but simply the character of precious metals and natural materials when worn regularly.
To preserve the beauty and longevity of your piece, we recommend:
Each product page includes detailed information about the specific metals and materials used.
Many styles are finished with a substantial layer of high-quality 14k gold, applied thicker than industry standard. With regular wear, gold-coated jewelry may gradually soften or fade, particularly in areas that experience frequent friction. This is a natural result of wear and not a production fault. We are always happy to professionally reapply the gold finish as needed to restore your piece.
Brass and sterling silver styles may naturally develop a patina over time, which is a beautiful and unique transformation that adds character to the metal. If you prefer a brighter finish, gently polish with a high-quality polishing cloth. Please do not use liquid jewelry cleaners, and avoid polishing cloths on gold-coated or vermeil pieces.
Stone Care
Natural gemstones require thoughtful handling. Many stones are hand-cut and feature organic textures, inclusions, and varying levels of hardness. Some stones may chip or crack if dropped or struck against a hard surface.
Opals and turquoise, in particular, are porous and more fragile. These stones can discolor when exposed to chlorine, salt water, and harsh chemicals. We recommend removing these pieces before swimming or prolonged water exposure.
With proper care and mindful wear, your jewelry will continue to age beautifully over time.
